Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. The same rules also cover similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage and tracking scripts, so on this page "cookies" means all of them. Some are essential, some make the site more convenient, and some measure how it's used.
02How I ask for your consent
UK law (PECR, alongside the UK GDPR) says I must get your permission before placing anything that isn't strictly necessary, and must tell you clearly what each one does. So:
- A banner appears on your first visit, before any optional cookie is set. You can accept all, reject all, or manage each category.
- Rejecting is as easy as accepting. No box is pre-ticked, and the site works the same whichever you choose.
- I remember your choice for up to 6 months, then ask again.
- You can change your mind at any time: use the button below, the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, or the cookie icon at the bottom of any page.

When you start filling in a form, Cloudflare Turnstile loads to stop automated abuse. It is used only for security and nothing loads from Cloudflare until you interact with a form.

Until you accept, analytics is switched off. If you reject or withdraw, these cookies aren't set, and any already set are removed on your next visit.
Advertising and marketing
None. I don't use advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies. If I ever add one, it will be off until you agree, and listed here first.
04Third parties
Google (analytics, only with your consent) and Cloudflare (security check) can see your IP address and browser details when their services load. Their own policies explain how they use it. For analytics, I ask Google to use the data only to provide me with reports. Full details of who I share information with, and why, are in my Privacy Policy.
05Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. This is normally under Settings → Privacy in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Blocking all cookies will sign you out of your optimiser account and may stop some features working. For mobile browsers, look under the browser's own settings, or your phone's Safari or Chrome settings. Clearing cookies also clears your cookie choice, so the banner will ask you again.
